Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of this website. They are terms about a website, not about a policy. A policy is a contract between you and the insurer, on the insurer's own wording — nothing on this page adds to it, takes anything away from it, or starts it.

By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site. Insurance is the subject matter of solicitation.

Who operates this website

This website is operated by Dr. Sonali Walia, an individual life insurance agent. She is appointed by a single life insurer and registered against the IRDAI agent registration code shown below. IRDAI is the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India, the regulator for insurance in India.

The practice is a sole proprietorship, which is not a separate legal person from its proprietor. So Prakash Financial Services and Prakash Finserv are names she trades under, and the agency is held by her personally.

Two things follow, and they are worth stating because people reasonably assume otherwise. There is no company registration number, because there is no company. And there is no principal officer: that role belongs to corporate agents and brokers, and an individual agent does not have one. The person named above is the agent, and is also the first point of contact for a complaint.

The registration, its validity dates, the appointing insurer and the reason those two numbers do not exist here are set out in full on IRDAI disclosures, which is the page that owns those facts.

Is anything on this website an offer, a quotation or a contract?

No. Everything on this site is general information published so you can understand how life insurance works before anyone tries to sell you any. It is not an offer to insure you, it is not a quotation, it is not a recommendation, and it does not form a contract of insurance with anyone.

Nothing on this site is a quotation. Premiums, benefits and acceptance terms are determined solely by the insurer at underwriting.

The information here is general. It is written without knowing your age, your health, your dependants, your debts or your tax position, so it cannot be advice about what you personally should do. Where you need advice on your own circumstances, take it from someone who has your circumstances in front of them.

What happens when you submit the form?

Submitting the form on this site is an application. It starts a process; it does not create cover. Your answers are used to prepare a proposal to the insurer, and the insurer then decides whether to accept the risk, on what terms, or not at all. Until it accepts and issues a policy, you are not covered.

From form to cover — and where cover actually starts
Stage What happens Are you covered yet?
You read this website You use general information about how life cover, underwriting and claims work. No
You submit the form Your answers reach us. We check them with you and prepare a proposal for the insurer. No
We submit your proposal The proposal goes to the insurer. Submitting it is asking the insurer to take on your risk. No
The insurer underwrites The insurer assesses the risk. It may ask for medical tests or more information, accept as applied for, accept on altered terms, or decline. No
The insurer accepts and issues a policy The insurer issues the policy document. That document, and not this website, sets out what you are covered for and from when. Yes — on the terms and from the date the policy document states

Three practical points sit behind that table.

  • Paying does not start cover. Only the insurer's acceptance does. If the insurer offers any form of interim or conditional cover before a policy is issued, its terms come from the insurer's own documents, not from anything on this website.
  • We will never ask you to pay a premium into a personal account. Premium is payable to the insurer. If anyone asks you to do otherwise in our name, do not pay, and tell us.
  • Answer every question yourself, and answer it accurately. An insurer can question a policy where something material was misstated or not disclosed. The damage from an inaccurate answer does not show up when you apply. It shows up at a claim, when it is your family dealing with it.

What we do with the information you submit is set out in our Privacy Policy. You can start an application at our application form.

If a policy is issued and it turns out not to be what you understood you were buying, there is a window in which you can return it to the insurer. That window, and what comes back to you, is explained on Refund and free-look.

Why is there no premium or benefit amount anywhere here?

Because we are not the ones who set them. This site states no premium, no rate of return, no maturity value and no benefit amount, and that is a deliberate design rule rather than an oversight. The insurer prices the risk and decides what a policy pays.

A distributor who publishes a number the insurer has not priced is making a promise it cannot keep. If underwriting later contradicts that number, the customer is left holding the difference. The Disclaimer is the page that owns this rule, and it sets out the full reasoning behind it.

If you have been shown a figure that appears to come from us and is not in a document issued by the insurer, treat it as unreliable and check it with us using the contact details above.

What we do, and what we do not do

We are a distributor. We explain products, help you complete an application accurately, submit it, and stay with you through underwriting, servicing and a claim. The insurer pays us commission, within the limits IRDAI sets, and you pay us no separate fee. How that works — and the conflict of interest that comes with it — is set out on IRDAI disclosures.

We do not:

  • underwrite risk, or price it
  • decide whether an application is accepted, altered or declined
  • decide the outcome of a claim, or the amount paid on one
  • issue, alter or cancel a policy
  • quote premiums, project returns, or state what a policy will pay
  • compare across insurers — we are appointed by a single life insurer, who is named in the footer of every page on this site
  • give investment, tax or legal advice

Those decisions belong to the insurer. Where you disagree with one, there are four steps you can take: us, then the insurer, then IRDAI, then the Insurance Ombudsman. They are set out on Grievance Redressal.

How you may use this website

You may read this site, print it, and share links to it, for your own information and to make an enquiry or an application about your own insurance. In using it, you agree not to:

  • submit information you know to be false, or submit another person's details without their knowledge and authority
  • use the site to send anything unlawful, abusive, misleading or infringing
  • hold yourself out as us, as an employee or agent of ours, or as authorised to solicit insurance on our behalf
  • copy, republish, sell or systematically extract the content of this site for commercial purposes without our written permission
  • attempt to probe, disrupt or overload the site, circumvent any technical restriction, or access data that is not yours
  • use automated means to harvest personal data from the site

We may withdraw access to the site, or to the application form, from anyone who does any of these. Some of them are also offences under Indian law, and are not ours to forgive.

Who owns the content here?

The text, structure, design and images on this site belong to the operator named above, or are used with permission, and are protected as literary and artistic works under the Copyright Act, 1957 (India Code).

You are welcome to quote a short extract with attribution and a link back. You may not reproduce substantial parts of the site, or use it to build a competing service, without our written permission.

Names, logos, product names and registration marks belonging to the insurer, to IRDAI, or to any other organisation remain theirs. They appear on this site only where a disclosure requires them, and their appearance does not give you any right to use them.

Links to other websites

This site links out to the regulator, to the insurer, to the IRDAI grievance portal (Bima Bharosa) and to the Council for Insurance Ombudsmen. Those links exist so that you can check what we tell you against the source, and escalate a complaint without going through us.

We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their availability. A link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the page it points at. Once you follow one, you are on someone else's site, under their terms and their privacy notice, not ours.

What we are, and are not, responsible for

What we are answerable for

We are answerable for:

  • the accuracy and honesty of what we publish on this site
  • doing the work of a licensed insurance agent properly — explaining products fairly, submitting your application accurately and on time, and servicing it afterwards
  • our obligations under the Insurance Act, 1938 (India Code) and the regulations IRDAI makes under it, and for handling your personal data as our Privacy Policy describes

What we cannot be answerable for

Equally, there are things that are genuinely not ours, and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise by staying silent about them. We are not responsible for:

  • the insurer's decision on your application — acceptance, altered terms or decline — or the price it sets
  • the terms of a policy the insurer issues, or the outcome or timing of a claim decision
  • the content or availability of any third-party website we link to
  • a loss you suffer because general information on this site was treated as advice about your own circumstances, when it is not and does not say it is
  • interruptions to this site. We do not promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or withdraw any part of it

What is not excluded, whatever this page says

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits anything that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. In particular, nothing here affects:

  • liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India Code)
  • our duties as a licensed insurance agent under the Insurance Act, 1938 and IRDAI regulations, which are owed whatever a website says
  • your rights against the insurer under a policy it has issued you. A policy is a contract between you and the insurer, and nothing on this page can reduce it

Which law applies, and where a dispute is heard

These terms, and any dispute about this website, are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Delhi have jurisdiction, which is where the registered office set out above is.

That clause does not take away a right the law gives you to go somewhere else. If you are a consumer, you keep whatever right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 to complain to the consumer commission for the place where you live or work. A complaint about a policy, a mis-sale or a claim can also go to the insurer, to Bima Bharosa, or to the Insurance Ombudsman, and the route is set out on Grievance Redressal. Use of this website is not a condition of any of that.

How these terms can change

We may update these terms — because the site changes, because the law changes, or because something here turns out to be unclear. The version on this page is always the current one, and the review date at the foot of the page tells you when it was last checked. These terms were last reviewed on 31 August 2026.

We do not apply a change backwards to something that has already happened. If you do not accept a change, stop using the site. And a change to these terms never changes a policy: a policy can only be altered in the ways the policy document and the law allow, by the insurer.

How to reach us, and how to complain

For anything about this website or an application, contact Dr. Sonali Walia at [email protected] or +91 87968 39997.

If you want to complain, you do not have to start with us and you do not have to stay with us. The four steps — us, then the insurer, then IRDAI through its Bima Bharosa portal, then the Insurance Ombudsman — are set out in full on Grievance Redressal, with the contact points for each.

  • Disclaimer — the limits of what the information on this site is, and what it is not
  • Privacy Policy — what we collect, why, who sees it and how long we keep it
  • Grievance Redressal — how to complain, and where to go if you are not satisfied
  • IRDAI disclosures — the registration, the appointing insurer, what this agency may and may not do, and how it is paid
  • Refund and free-look — returning a policy after it has been issued, and what comes back to you
