Death claim
A claim made on the death of the life assured during the policy term.
A death claim is made by the nominee. The insurer typically requires the policy document, a death certificate, proof of the claimant’s identity, and — depending on circumstances — medical or other records.
Claims arising in the first three years are examined more closely, because that is the window in which the policy can still be questioned.
